I Was Havin' a "Heavy Metal" moment in My Head when I sketched this one out...

I Miss the Genre the way it existed back in the 70's and 80's... While the Movie is a bit dated, I can still watch It in It's Entirety without Skippin' Ahead to the next chapter... Hell, the SouthPark Guys Spoofed "Heavy Metal" in that Cat Piss episode (Hilarious By the Way )... Those stories could be about AnyThing, Happenin' AnyWhere... I Guess it's why I find Myself startin' to enjoy European comics more... Hmmm, I'll have to come back and Elaborate on that subject later, when I have a bit more time...

Awesome,

I think I still have a few Heavy Metal and Metal Hurlant (the original French version) stashed around somewhere, kickass sci-fi I like to call it. Cool sketch, the whole cat people thing was quite big in that magazine.

Can't wait to see more.

tru. tru. and those crazy underground and ground level (starreach) comics were awesome too, for the same reason.
Though if you go back and read DC comics in the '60s, during Marvel's so called Golden Age there were lots of insanely trippy stories where anything could and did happen. Metamorpho, Metal Men, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olson stories come to mind. Some really whack shit.
But the luxurious illustration style of the european comics can't be beat.

I don't get Heavy Metal as often anymore... If somethin' really stands out in one, I'll get it...

60's DC comics, Huh??? I'll have to look into those...
