Some more Sketch-A-Doodles, just like I said.. But, I'm gonna leave the Motor City Con Commentary for tomorrow, while I fix some of the pics that I took there to accompany it... Sooo, onto some sketches...

I just felt like mixin' different animal parts together to play around with... Create something that I can animate later, possibly... I should probably pullback with some of the detail though, NAW...

These are a couple of many different alien designs I've come up with, for an idea that's been floatin' around in my melon since High school... When I finally get to it, I should have a plethora of characters to pick from... That's the idea anyway... we'll see... I obviously went with a gross name like "Snotulon", cuz', well, look at it... It's gross...

It's name is "Snotulon"... I'm so juvenile... You Love It !!! Yes You Do...

Okay, so a couple of months ago I came across this site called,
  • www.mojizu.com
  • ... And it was in it's Beta stage, had a free membership, and involved character designs... How could I pass up such a temptin' offer??? Well, I couldn't, so I joined up... I'm signed on there as tmalo70, if you want to take a look at any new ones I'll post there, or look at any of the other Sooper Kick-Ass MOJIs by other talented Character designers... Below are the two that I've posted so far...

This is Chuckles, my first MOJI... Funny, how he looks like he could be related to one of my CUCOs... Hmmm, interestin'...

Then came ChickaDummy... A description of this little "it" is on their site... Check it out, you know you want too... C'Mon!!! Puh-Leeease...

That's it for this time, hope you weren't too disappointed... Catch you all next time with some more of, whatever it is either of you call it, when you tell other to people to swing by, cuz' it's so FUN here...

SORRY!!! SORRY!!! SORRY!!! For the lack of updates... Between Work, Movin' into a new apartment, the Motor City Con, and a 4 day Migraine from HELL, it's been kinda' hard to post anything on this baby... But, I am back and will have a Grip O' Crap to post... Here's a few things just to start off with...

This is a CD cover I did for a punk band from Vegas back in Janurary of 2000... They went by the name 3rd. Man In... They were a pretty good band, unfortunately they broke up and went their seperate ways... The band was represented by John Robinson of NakedMissingPersons, an old friend of mine... Who asked if I was interested in doin' a cover for their cd and possibly namin' the album... I jumped at the chance, since I had never done anything like it before... The next day I sat at my table stumped for hours... I started to get nervous, and started to clean-up my studio... I came across a bag of balloons and started messin' around with makin' animals (I suck at it), and I felt like the Dr. Moreau of Balloon Animals... I must've made like 15 mutant B.A.s... Then it hit me like a sack of nickels, and 30 minutes later I was done with pencils and inks...Lucky for me, they loved the cover and the name... It was pretty cool to watch people buyin' the cd at a couple of the concerts...

Here's a color version someone did...

And, some Digital Camera TomFoolery... It made me laugh while I was doin' it, so I thought I'd post it...

Well, that's it for this post... Come back for some more Monday, where I will bombard you with loads of Sketch-A-Doodles, tell you about the con...

P.S.S. For real, go now... Then you can come back... I'll still be here...
Just in case anyone was gettin' bored with my Photo Posts, I thought I'd post some old sketches... They aren't in any particular order, just some old scans... Enjoy...

    More Train Peeps...

These are for an IP that I'm slowly devlopin', until I'm comfortable enough and ready to jump on it... Project #2,473...

This Alien Fellow goes by the name Hugo... Yet more Development Sketches, for a project that may happen at a later time... Project # 3,869...

Here's one Bear you don't want to Piss-Off... Or, he's liable to put his Grizzly Style to use on your Ass...

Aawww yeah, Grandma' was stylin' with this "DO"... Her rollers did not go waste... Go Abuelita, with Yo' Bad Self...

I'm not quite sure what was goin' on here with Mom's hair, but she shoulda' did it more often... Man, Mom looked a little "DANGEROUS" back in the day, Huh ??? Keep an eye out for that icepick guys...

Titi Olga was snappin' Hawt Shots way before "Glamour Shots" was born... My guess is she coulda' got a few more flowers in that Fro... Whatchu' think ???

    PEACE !!!

    Tony
    Blasto from El Pasto Time...

Here are the men, with the exception of my little cousin Alexis... I don't have any pics of him with his hair out in the open... But, I still Love You kid...

Since Gramps was already Folicly Challenged when I was born, he was known to always have a Chapeau on... Today was not the case... So, he used mine... YeeHaaaaw!!!

My cousin Ricky always wore his "Fro" proudly... He should defintely grow it back...

And then there's me... What the HELL??? I know I'm makin' a face, I know this... But, even if I smiled nicely for the Photographer, look at that hair... Unfortunately, the curse still follows me to this day... After a haircut, I've got 2 good weeks before I have to break out the Cubs hat...

    The Ladies are next...

    HOLA!!!
Remember when I posted that "Cole Cutz" character sketch, and I wrote that when I found the others, I'd post them.. No?.? Well, here they are any way, and some vectors from 2002... Man, I've come a long way with Illustrator... Now, if I can only get better at PhotoShop...... Now these are for an idea my friend Juan Gomez and I came up with a while back... He came up with the Hash Brown character and idea, and I couldn't help but sketch that little dude out... Havin' done that, I couldn't stop designin' characters for this idea... How many of them will actually get used is anyone's guess, but I had a blast comin' up with'em...

    Enjoy

    Happy Saturday...

This morinin's post has a few things in it... First off, is
  • Raf's Interview
  • over at
  • comicon.com
  • ... He talks about "The Apocalypse Plan", one of his several projects bein' published by
  • Narwain
  • ... Along with the interview, is a 5 page preview of the book, with art by Aaron Kuder (And it's Beautimous)... This book is gonna kick some major ass, and prove what I and many others already know, that Rafael Nieves is a brilliant writer whose "Come Uppance" is right around the corner... Check out the interview and art, maybe even leave a comment on what you think about it... Show your support, cuz' in the end, all we've got is each other...

Secondly, here's a post-it doodle I did after noshin' on some Chicago's Pizza... It felt kinda' blah, and like such a generic lil sketch... Well,
  • Norm
  • saw it, and asked for a scan... I hooked him up with it, and the next day, he emailed this colorful piece to me... It got lost amongst all my crap, but I found it, and wanted to share it with you guys and girls...

Thirdly, a few more older sketch-a-doodles of mine...

I have a tendency to not be able to throw things away... Even small bits of bristol board... I figure they might make for cool disposable pieces of sketchin' paper... And, this is one of them...

When I used to be an usher at the Auditorium Theatre, I had visual access to many different kinds of people... They came from all walks of life, and this lady was no exception... This is what she looked like, all I did was make her look cartoony... I just might use this design for something, someday...

Yes... I saw "Finding Nemo" a few days before drawin' this...

I doodled this one while waitin' for my Momz delayed flight... It's a good thing I brought my sketchbook with me, cuz' it was 3 and a half hours late...

Well, that's it for this post... Check out that
  • Interview
  • , grab your doodlin' supplies, go down to a public place and sketch out some stuff or people or what have you... Get out there be creative and have some fun...

    Much Love,

    Tony

    Chicago's RedLine L Sketches...

Here's another "Oldie" post... Back when I used to take the RedLine to work everyday, the only thing that would make that long-ass commute bearable, was that I'd sketch people on the train... It was a great way to warm-up before gettin' into work and capture so many different looks... Occasionally, someone might see that I was drawin' them, which usually resulted in them either hidin' behind their Sun-Times, or muggin' for the cartoonist (Which would piss me off, especially if I was happy with the sketch)... However, others were so oblivious to everything, they made easy targets... Ahhh, Good Times, Good Times...

    If I find anymore, I'll post'em...

    Update Time...
I know it's been over a week, but here we go... First off, my apologies to those who have seen these "Oldies" already... I have posted these on the
  • Drawing Board Forums
  • before, but not here... More later, when I get a minute...

Just a few Warm-Up Sketch-A-Doodles... Just how I start a day of "Arting" for someone else... I'll usually throw some grey tones on later, dependin' on how much time I've got available to warm-up...

    "Domo Arrigato, Mr. Roboto"...

I liked this little guy, so he got his own page...

"A Valentine's Day Card in March"?!? You ask loudly...

    Kinda'...

This was one that I did that was actually on time this year, but only thought of postin' just now... I thought I'd put the sketch and vector art together side by side, instead of two different pieces...

Anywho, check it, and I'll catch you next time...

"Blasto from El Pasto 2: Los Caballeros...

This Suave and Debonair Gentleman is my Gramps, the Patriarch of the Rivera Family... As cool as superheros and moviestars can be, this man is above all, my Hero... A huge influence on the man I am today... Thanks abuelo...

This my first cousin Ricardo... Back durin' a time when we saw alot of each other, and unfortunately wore matchin' sunvisors... Ricky always had a big ol' smile for the camera...

Again, not an oldie, but the only pic of my little cousin Alexis I have... He is Nicole's dad and quite the character... I look forward to goin' back to Puerto Rico to spend some time with my family, and come back with new pics to share...

Last, but certainly not least, is moi... It is my belief that I just woke up... I mean, look at those sleepy eyes, and that, hair... Ah yes, the hair... I think the next time I post pics, I shall share the history of my "Big Hair"... Prepared to be HORRIFIED...

Well, that's it for "Blasto from El Pasto" this time around... I hope you enjoyed them... See ya' next time...

    PEACE!!!
